These Cherry Coconut Magic Bars are a delightful twist on the classic dessert, combining the sweet tang of cherries with the rich, tropical flavor of coconut. Easy to make and utterly irresistible!

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 16 bars 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and halved
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the graham cracker crust.
  4. Sprinkle shredded coconut, chopped nuts, maraschino cherries, and chocolate chips evenly over the sweetened condensed milk.
  5. Gently press the toppings into the sweetened condensed milk layer to help them adhere.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden brown and the edges are set.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely in the pan before lifting out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips. You can substitute other types of nuts or dried fruits according to your preference.
